AFSA (Allergy Foundation South Africa) Seal of Approval Independently Assessed & Approved

Our Certifications

Earthmelon holds the AFSA (Allergy Foundation of South Africa) Seal of Approval across our core air purifier and dehumidifier range — South Africa's only independent, scientifically-backed assessment for allergy- and asthma-friendly products. Each approved product has been independently assessed by AFSA against its Seal of Approval criteria for allergen and irritant reduction.

What the AFSA Seal Means

The Allergy Foundation of South Africa is a non-profit that has supported allergy and asthma sufferers since 1969. Its Seal of Approval programme independently assesses products against strict scientific criteria — it is not a paid logo licence, and AFSA does not approve anything that hasn't passed its evaluation. Seeing this seal on an Earthmelon product means the claims we make about allergen reduction, filtration and air quality have been checked by an independent third party, not just by us.

Also NRCS Certified

Alongside AFSA approval, every Earthmelon air purifier and dehumidifier holds a National Regulator for Compulsory Specifications (NRCS) Letter of Authority, confirming each unit has been independently tested to South African electrical safety standards before sale. It's the same rigour, applied twice — once for what the product claims to do, and once for how safely it does it.
